The Pacific Northwest is my ancestral homeland. I grew up in the rain, living my life outside when the sun was out, and inside the rest of the time while there was torrential downpour, writing and playing video games.

It was a viscous circle; I would game, get inspired, write, get bored, game again, get inspired, and so on. More fulfillment began to come from the creativity in each turn of the cycle. I learned to cultivate my writing skills during the downtime in my childhood, whether that was a free write at school or a long snow day at home.

I have written for decades, but not once have I published any work that I’ve done. I realized one day that no one was going to enjoy my work, or see it even, if I never put it out there. If it’s never shared, it just remains a collection of ideas.

Everyone has ideas.
